Brown spots in grass after I mow.

Wow, never heard of this. I stop all the time with my Hustler X One, and never had any spots appear. Between the fan on the motor and on each hydro unit, there isn't much of chance of heat buildup. Sounds like Hustler knows how to build a mower 🤣

I think the heat management is the issue, as well as muffler location. My Exmark ZTR has the ZT-2800 hydro motors which are better suited for the size machine compared to the non serviceable ZRT-2200 that my neighbors CC has. His hydros get much hotter than mine do, his muffler is also closer to the ground as well.

Hope this isn't too much of a hijack, but I think tractor makers have grown complacent about where the exhaust goes. My tractor and so many others aim the exhaust down and forward, so the operator is driving through it. Exhaust is kind of nasty, and older tractors usually pipe it upwards above the operator's head. What changed, so that makers decided to just kind of ignore this? Now I'm hearing a similar kind of thing may happen for some small mowers. Is there some sales advantage for sleek new machines whose designers pretended exhaust systems are fine to just tuck in anywhere out of the way?
BTW, I added my own vertical exhaust, and the machine is now much more pleasant to operate. It was a bit of work figuring out exactly how to do this -- perhaps there's a market opportunity here!

SWAG: Saves on height. To get the exhaust high enough to go over the top of a rops/canopy/shade, it gets high, and that means you can't get into a garage.

It's an 11 year old thread. By now other manufacturers may have gotten on board.
