Brush guard that works

I have modified the factory brush guard so that it will actually stop most brush. Added a 2" id pipe filled with lead and expanded metal. Also in the picture is a weight made of square tubing and filled with lead. Between the 2 this gives me about 160lbs and also allows use with FEL on or off. Neither interferes with operation.

I did something very similar (minus the weights) and have already saved my grill from errant branches a couple of times. Mine's painted orange, but your welds look better. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif This is something Kubota ought to offer as standard equipment, IMO

Most tire shops will give you their used wheel weights.

If ya can't do it with expanded metal and/or Duct tape...just ain't worth doin'!!

If you decide to use wheel weights, and melt them down to fill a tube or whatever, be very careful not to breathe the vapors. Sounds elementary, but I got sick for a long time as a result of melting lead wheel weights to make ingots to put in the bow of my boat. I thought I was being careful, turned out I wasn't. So stay outside and upwind!
