If you burn it, keep a leaf blower handy. I use mine on low to stoke the fire to keep it going really hot and to move the fire to all parts of the pile so I get a complete burn. You'll also want to have a water hose in case things get out of hand. I've had that happen too, and almost burned my entire pasture one year.

I bet there are a LOT of people who've burned brush in ditches. I doubt there will be any problem with the fish. If that was the case then wherever theres a forest fire the lakes would be all dead. I haven't heard of that but I'm no expert. It's smart to ask around first. When fish float it's too late.

If that was my ditch I'd want the brush gone and grass to grow in it and look natural ASAP.

I would want it gone also,but would probably just look at it until I saved enough to get a dozer in and cover the mess and fill in the ditch to just a gentle slope on each side then sow grass, so I could keep it mowed at least once a year during dry season. A good sod base would the ditch bottom from washing out again.
