These tines were not designed for that mode of loading and are much more susceptible to breaking that way.

Broke two tines by getting them tangled in 2"-3" maples that were still rooted in the ground. I should have got out the chainsaw and cut them loose but I tried to just muscle out of it. It didn't take all that much to break them. What I realized is the little BX can't break several tines at once but it can break them one at a time.

We're out here!! I've been working on a new mod for FEL the past few nights in the cool air. I only need a new king pin, bore 4 holes to match it, then weld 2 4" beads and it's done. I will be posting pics tomorrow. We have a rule here. We only build from scrap, nothing new ( raiding the junk yard again for a king pin I spotted last time and forgot to get) heck even the welding rod I use are half burnt down. PICS tomorrow!! I think everyone will approve. The design was motivated by a pic I saw on here!

Oh what the heck..thought I would share two images : Goal was to have a tool platform that could handle anything that we had that went with the rear 3 pt each. Finishing it up tomorrow. but here is two images showing the lower half right after mounting it

Sodo, that is an excellent idea! I hadn't seen this thread before, I would have commented earlier. I think being able to back drag the rakes from way out front like that would really be convenient. Wish I had fabrication skills...

Yep, it is called a three point adapter. I had to buy mine, but I use it a lot.

It has some extra rollback built in.
