Son in law has a 2004 Duramax four door 4X4 dually. He wants a brush guard.

I presented him with an idea last night.

He looked back at me like I'd stepped in something and we were on his carpet. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Imagine this. Four inch pipe wrap around bumper. Then instead of using smaller pipe to highlight the design of the truck bend the pipe into flames.

From the front the flames appear to come up out of the center and roll around the fender. Think of the big pipe as a magic marker line. Then the flame pipe would be a sharpy line.

I've never seen one so I think it would be too cool.

I guess one of my faults in my daughter's eyes was too much imagination. So she's married a nice young man not so equipped. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Harv,

If he does not want it I do!!!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I appreciate your imagination and skills to put it to use! I'll buy the pipe! When can I big up the Flaming Brush Guards! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It will make a good Christmas present. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

When I come back from vacation I'll have to make up one to see how it looks in real life. I rolled and cut some one inch pipe into flames just for grins yesterday. I think it'll look really great on the front of a truck.

Who knows, might be a new fad.

Of course this is from the guy who came up with drilling a hole in the bottom of an unopened can of beer. Removing the beer and replacing it with plastic. Then before the plastic set up installing a bolt. Sometimes the bolt would be metric, sometime sae. Then the whole thing was covered with a plastic expoxy.

It was the coolest shifter knob ever............ just couldn't sell enough of them to make it worth while.

Where are the drunks when you need one?

As long as it's unopened, our kind folks with the Texas DPS couldn't cite you for a violation of the open container law. Methinks an opened can (entirely filled with epoxy) would make an interesting challenge to the law, eh?

Harv, beer can hydraulic control handles!!!! How many TBN members are there now?

I laid a piece of three inch pipe next to the flamed pipe.

Keep in mind these flames aren't what the finished product will look like. They were some pieces of bent pipe that I rearranged. The real deal ones will be longer with more curves, a little attitude.

I want them to roll around the fender in an aggressive manner, attitude, in your face, attitude.

That is cool /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif enough that I would almost beg the wife to let me buy a new truck just to have a truck good enough to bolt it on .... My 97' Dodge 2 wheel drive just is not enough truck to do that justice ... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
You do nice work ...Thanks for sharing .
