Hey guys, on my 7610 I noticed when I push the joystick on the float position in no longer stays, it just clicks and falls back to the middle....does anyone know what the problem could be?? Thanks

Mine has always done that. I didn't know that some joysticks were able to stay in the float position.

I have a 7610 I have to hold it to stay in float.I release it and it goes out of float.

My montana stays in the float position. It locks in place and you have to pull back on it to get it out of float

It should stay in the float position, My previous B7500 and the L2800 I now have both would hold the float position.
It maybe something as simple as a good cleaning or it could be internal.

My B7500 locks in place when I push it into float....but it took me a long time to even find the float. I was not pushing it far enough up.

This subject has come up in the past. I just did a search 'float joystick' and found the following:

"A couple of the posts talked about removing the 'cover-nut' on the bottom of the spool (below the lift valve) and finding water there that kept the valve from reaching the detent position. I went out an opened mine up and sure-enough there was water in the cap. I dumped that out and lubed it up with some grease and woohoo now it works like new again."

Hopefully this helps.

Kubotaman7,

Wally is right on the money. Take those cast caps off of the underside of the joystick. (Nothing should come out but possibly some condensed water) Spray them down with some WD then coat them with grease. I never had a problem after this application.

There is a thread somewhere in this vast collection of wisdom that will probably explain it better than I just did.

Detent position inside valve wears down, allowing control to slip out of float position without normally required light tug. I think the rebuild kit is about 25 bucks from Kubota. I ordered the kit, but my dealer ended up installing it for me for another 25 bucks (50 total) while my tractor was in for 1250 hour service. He showed me how it was done - it seemed simple enough.
Removing condensation from behind cap didn't work for me - she was just plain worn out. Works like new now, just like the rest of the tractor!
