I wanted to show my bucket hooks I just welded on today. I had to set them at a 45 because the top of my bucket was not that wide and from others suggestion. I also welded one on the back which makes for quick single chain hookups. All three will come in handy in using my bucket. Already used them for pulling my old boiler out of the basement. Sure saved my wife's and my back. :D

Huck, Nice looking weld!

I am going to do the same but out of consideration for concentrated stress I will weld some "tabling" down first, at least a doubler and weld the hooks on the doubler (or tripler or...)

I was going to put a base plate under each of them but first did not have the room and after looking closer the lip of the bucket where I welded them is really like channel. I am so close to the outside I figure there is more support there too. if I do by chance tear it up the good news is I have my machine now to fix it. It is so great having a welder around the house!

Did I forget to mention that I tend to over engineer things? When in doubt, I make it stronger. Odds are that you will not have a problem unless you really abuse the hooks.

Nice clean looking welding & alignment job. I like the one in the back middle. I might have to do that to my bucket. I have hooks on my bucket & also on my pallet forks. They are super handy & let the machine do the lifting..

Did you get your weld on hooks locally or mail order?

I got them from mail order. I would give you the email address but they took so long that I am not sure where I ordered them from plus I am waiting for my credit card statement to see if they even charged me. I just did a Google search for grab hooks. I want to say they were about $6 a piece. I was connecting my chain with a shackle to the bucket and that was a pain. The hooks make for quick and easy picks now.

Rob, Thanks for posting that link. I struck out with some local suppliers who only have hooks for attaching to chain, no weld on units. I will have some hooks headed my way real soon now.

Thanks again,

Pat

Some time back I posted about adding hooks to the bucket of my B7610 loader. I did and thought I would show a picture of one of the hooks. The paint on the hook is scratched up a bit due to use.

I reinforced the lip of the bucket at the location of the hooks and then used a section of angle iron to mount the hook with some plate added to the bucket itself to spread the load over a larger area.

So far, so good.

Happy :) to see that you aren't one of those touch-up paint guys.

Good design and installation. Weld looks very sanitary.

Thanks for the kind comments.

So far, the installation is proving quite strong. Hooks on a loader bucket are very useful, as most already know. ;)
