That's my son's 2003 Chevy 1500HD crewcab. My mother in law bought it, and hated driving a bigger truck. So son traded his hand-me-down 2012 Durango to her for it.
He loves the truck, hates the 11-12mph of that Vortex 6000. He has been bouncing around the idea of picking up a late 80s/early 90s S10/Ranger 4x4, too save some fuel.
As a young 22 year old, I bought a 2005 Chevy 2500HD 4x4, and it's almost the same truck, but mine was extended, and only had the fleet side bed, and a lower trim package compared to his Z71 'white man's Cadillac'

Is there a step-side bed on it? They never came with one, so it would have been swapped over.
I specifically was drawn to that because I had a 2003 1500HD, and always daydreamed of swapping over a step-side bed.
I've had 4 GM trucks from that era, they're possibly my favorite trucks.

That's a nice pickup. My dream would be an '03 GMC 1500HD, 4x4, with quadrasteer. The 1500HD was unique for sure.

In 2019, when I bought my Ram 1500 Classic, I did do a search for 2005 Silverado Super Sport, with the AWD, and if I remember right, a Vortec 6000, with 345 hp. None around, and the cheapest I found anywhere was around $25k.
You know it's funny, in 05, that was a Fast truck; now a normal 5.7 Hemi is putting out what, 395hp/410ft#?

That's what my 2018 RAM was putting out, and it would move, certainly compared to any of the trucks I had owned prior. The truck it replaced was a 2004 Silverado 1500 with a 295 horsepower 5.3, and it was a big change.
Now I'm in a 2019 F350 with a 6.2 and 6 speed transmission; while I really like the truck, it isn't nearly as quick.

If a tractor is the only machine available then clamp on forks are the best way to fork something without forking over a lot of cash. The over the bucket forks are stronger but they both offer the operator no view of the forks... zero visibility so it's no more than a guess when you go to pick something up. Even QA forks are limited depending upon your hood size, seating and operator height.
