bucket snow plow exerience with a GC-series tractor?

Is anyone using a snow plow that attaches to their loader bucket, on their GC-series tractor?

In my opinion, the bottom of the bucket on a GC is too thin to do this without either extensive reinforcement.

I made a frame, and attached the plow directly to the loader arms.

I've used mine several times recently, only to scrape off the 1-3" of snow and/or ice from a paved driveway. It works, but it's sure not very efficient compared to my blower! (Just removed the FEL and put the blower on for the season yesterday; I was a little late this year?:ashamed

I have started the snow season for 4 years now using my bucket in the float position with the front edge of the bucket raised to begin packing snow on my gravel driveway. As the season progresses, I will switch to the MF blade, and then again switch to the MF snow blower, :2cents:. Hope this might give you some ideas, :tractor:. KC

I used a 7ft Snowbear on mine for 2 years and never bent the bucket at all. I just drilled two 3/4 inch holes through the round stock on the plow and into the bottom of the bucket, added a flat washer on the top and bottom and tightened it down. Worked like a champ. Only reason I stopped using it was that I found JD hyd lift and angle and made a mount that adapts it to the GC and now use it. If it were a heavier blade like a Meyers it may cause some issue but the Snowbear is only about 170-200lbs.
