Bucket Tilt Restrictor

MF 202. I need to slowdown the bucket tilt. From what I read, I can use a restrictor (maybe .030) in line with the cylinders. Could I just place a washer with the proper orifice in the female part of a swivel adapter? It seems like it would be the least expensive to get four of these adapters. I just wander if it is doable without any welding.

Yes you can put an orifice washer under fittings.

The orifice fittings that look like a plumbing nipple (double male) are under $5. Hard to beat that......unless you make your own bolts and nails too!

I would put in a valve instead of an orifice.

And no need for 4. Put one at the valve and only one.

I'd go adjustable too. That way you can get the exact speed you want without the trial and error or restrictors.

If you don't want to slow both directions, get one that has the check valve and is free flowing in one direction....and metered in the other direction

^^agree^^ If you install a .030" restrictor on each side of a cylinder, only the rodless end restrictor will be doing the restricting. The reason being, for any movement of the cylinder piston, the rodless end is going through more oil than the rod end. So, being that each end of the cylinder operates with a different volume of oil, swapping the restrictor to the other side of the cylinder will alter the restricted speed.

LD1, I like the idea of the adjustable feature and a needle valve looks like I would only need one to control both flows, it can be installed on either port... correct?

I think that probably I will instal one in the ram line also. It could use a slowdown too.

Out of curiosity, are those fixed size orifices problematic with sludge impurities?

I'm curious as to why you need restrictors. Are you just easing your control valves open or
pushing them to the stops?
Usually people want to speed up the response of a loader.
