They also dropped the GN turbo V6 in a S10 Pickup and a S10 Blazer. I think they were called the Cyclone and the Typhoon.

Those were actually 4.3l Chevy v6's. Very similar idea though and really cool vehicles!

A friend had a Cyclone. It was pretty quick. would bark all four tire shifting...

Never had a Cyclone but my F150 Lightning was sure fun stoplight to stoplight.

I had an '87 T-type (well used some years ago) I built it-blueprinted, larger turbo, injectors, exhaust, trans., the works. The car was quiet, fast and comfortable. But would not handle all that great. And the body integrity was not all that good. The key performance feature was the turbo and electronic controls of the turbo. I had numerous computer chips and a device that would carry multiple chips that were switch selectable. My daughter was in her early 20s around that time. I took her and her Persian cat for a "ride". Started from a rolling start at a light, going up a hill that was about 30 degrees or so and nailed it. After a few seconds she yelled and it scared the heck out of me. I said, "Allison, what is wrong"? as the cat was digging his claws into her and trying to escape. She said," I, I, couldn't breathe!" Ha, ha, ha.

The fastest and most fun to drive street car I ever had or rode in was my 1990 Nissan 300ZX twin turbo (used) I had about 7 years ago, with ~ 75,000 miles on the odometer. It was warmed up a bit, quicker and faster than a turbo Buick, was the best handling car I have owned and would really push me back in the seat. It was also the most uncomfortable car to sit in I have owned. The only thing less comfortable was a Lotus a friend owned.

The nicest road car I owned was a Thunderbird Super Coup, 1990 (used) I think- supercharged v-6 that I left stock. It would handle like a cat, accelerate pretty good for a car this heavy, was very quiet, comfortable and coast for what seemed like miles when I let off the gas.

First performance car was a 1970.5 Trans Am Firebird (bought used 1 year old) and the first one I built. This car was a real thrill to drive and the first one I built and learned what NOT to do to a car. Learning experience. I had 4 mufflers on it to keep it quiet.

I spent a very large sum of money on cars. And now on tractor stuff...
