are you using a mig torch to cut the metal with, or a plasma cutter? Just curious, since the only thing I know about welding is not to stare into the bright light...

Good old oxy/acetelene torch. Cuts like butter, but the edges are rough. So I'm just going to cut it into manageable pieces, then trim them out on the saws and grinders. Gotta use what I have. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Cut out the main cross member and welded it to the main frame member last night. Too dark for pictures. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Will get some before next step, which is to cut out the brackets that will hold the boom assembly pivot pin to the main frame. The thing feels beefy already. I will soon have to get some wheels for it, as it will be too heavy to move around easily. I'm thinking of putting permanent wheels on the ends of the cross member and a ball hitch or ring on the end of the main frame rail. I was thinking of putting a quick attach plate, but I would have to make it be able to pivot and roll in order to make it towable without scuffing up the lawn. If I go with the ring, I will be able to slip a hook into my reciever hitch and push it into location, or hook it to the rear of the PT as well. Several options to choose from, but no decision needed yet. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

3 hours into it so far.
