I had/owned a L3240 for over 300 days which has/had position control and it kept it and did not drop. It also had the extendable arms. The 40 series was the Deluxe model with the deluxe features for those that wanted the features and was willing to pay for them. Kubota has quarter inching and position control. Never heard anyone ever say their Kubota with position control would not maintain it. The lesser expensive models have quarter inching which isn't as easy to use due to having to adjust it but the deluxe models have the set the number position control and go. You, for 4 days, had the least expensive L3800 model with barebones features. A little more money makes a difference in almost all things. You chose the least expensive for the HP and that's what you got. It was your choice and not the machines fault.

It seems the L3800 was about the same price as my DK which has all those features and more. Lets get back to Topic and help this guy out, Eh?

I don't like the bang-bang uplift when using the hand control (which Kubota deserves criticism for), but I haven't seen any issues holding position. I surely would have noticed that last week when doing a lot of grading.

Don't want to beat a Dead Horse but there are many threads on this. I am talking L not Grand L and it may not even bother some people.

That is the jumpy control problem that is well known with many threads (due to the bang-bang design of the valve), but I have not seen it have any effect on holding position. As far as I know, read, and have experienced, it has nothing to do with actually holding position. I have my 7x16 trailer hitched to the 3-pt receiver for hours at times, and would definitely notice if it was not holding position. If that dropped at all, the tongue jack would start dragging.

I got about 15% of MSRP on a Mahindra, with 0% over 60 mons. The orange and green guys didn't want to move from advertised prices and wanted more if you wanted the financing. I forgot to mention the new EMax is coming out this spring. You might pick up an in stock item at a clearance price in the next month or two.

I went to one Mahindra dealer yesterday as part of my brand comparison. They didn't seem too interested in selling a tractor. They were only about $500 off of MSRP. I've spoken with other Mahindra dealers (further away) that have given me better prices if I choose to go that route.

E3A,
I live a town over from you and I've had really good experience with the Kubota dealer near us. I've been very impressed with their service.
All in all I actually like the dealer better than the tractor!
