I think the 15% number is a bit exaggerated. I would guess unless you are spending lots of money that most get less than 15% off msrp. It of coarse varies between brands and dealers. People love to brag about a great deal but rarely is somebody going to announce they got 5% off.

1st tractor or my 15th - I will always shop around to keep as much of money in my wallet as possible instead of putting it in somebody else's. If a dealer can sell it for 15% and still make a profit - how much more of my money would I be donating to a dealer that only wants to give 5% off?

Whew....good thing! The loader I figured, but the BH makes a big difference in price. I was thinking that was getting almost into MX-4700 territory

Apparently nobody understands that you might not get 15% off. Maybe you will.... maybe you'll get more off. I'm sure there are guys on here that would say they got 50% off. I'm not saying don't search for a good deal! But these guys preach 15% off like that is the rule. I am not accusing anyone of lying but I promise you a bunch of people get less than that off msrp. Not every dealer can sell for the same price and make a living. Like I've said... it varies.

I'm aware that 15% isn't carved in stone - but my reading has shown that it is quite possible also. I had one dealer give me a price that was about 2% off of list. I said thank you and left.

This is the story in a nutshell. The MX is a basic bottom of Kubota line utility tractor, 40 series is a step up. Dealers don't have as much room to work with percentage wise on no-frills tractors. You will find the same with JD D series, NH Workmasters, etc. compared to M series or Powerstars.
