Gates look perfectly aligned. Will you add a diagonal brace across each gate to keep them square?

That was the plan, just a 3/8" rod going corner to corner with a tensioner in the middle, but I decided I need to fasten boards in three places - I am putting another 2x2" horizontally. It will also keep the frame from sagging. Not as good as triangulation, but it looks better and works too.

You do quality work. I'd consider you a Craftsman in this endeavor.

Being a Jeep freak, got a pic of yours??

Thank you :)

1986 CJ7 with factory Dana 44, I drive it since 1998, bought it with 73 000 miles on it. Now it has 299 500 miles on the clock. This year I went Antique, I got tired of the inspection ********. In 2009 I got rear ended and replaced the frame and the tub. Also the original T5 died - ate the third gear, haha - so I replaced it with NP435 + Novak adapter. It has the 258 engine but TBI from Howell and HEI distributor from Chevy.

Nice work. Looks impressive. Old world impression.

Levers, jacks and blocks are for lifting by the old and frail like myself!

Prokop, thanks for the Jeep info. You are definitely a Jeep Guy. At one time I had 11. 3 left.

I bought an 81 CJ7 from a friend several years ago with 258 and Howell injection it ran great.

We offroad a lot and Jeep is the preferred vehicle because of their simpleness and dependability. We've evolved to caged buggies with Jeep engine/trans and big axles.

Thanks again for the pics and history of your Jeep.

It still needs an overlapping board for the middle and the top cut in half ellipse to match the little gate, but the gate is up and it closes and everything :D :dance1:

Thank you! With my wife we put chairs right behind the gate and shared a bottle of wine :).

I had lot of fun calculating ellipse points :)

Anyway, did the cut and final stain. The gate looks like it was always like this, that's what I call an invisible job. If you don't do it, everybody sees it but if you get it done, nobody will notice. Just like cutting grass, cleaning up, etc. - invisible jobs.

Update:

In July, half of a huge maple came down and broke two fence posts and lot of wood planks. One week later I had the second half removed by a pro.

I am finally done with cleaning up the mess and ready to replace broken fence posts.
