Re: Building a Pulverizer, Painted Version
That thing looks store-bought! I was at Agri Supply today and saw a Pulverizer that used the same scarifiers yours does. I thought that looked interesting, and maybe cheaper to maintain in the long run. My pulverizer uses the square spikes for scarifiers, and half of them are missing (the entire back row). I was looking for replacements but Agri seemed to be out of stock on them today. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
I am liking the rebar thing a lot better now, since I saw similar setups on the new ones at Agri. I thought you were going a little long on those things, but I was wrong, and maybe just don't understand them as well as I should.
I'm not thinking it would do well as an aerator unless you could lock it in the "down" position. If you removed the scarifiers the drum would just roll along the surface, onle pressed down by the spring levers on the side.
I did see replacement spoons for the core aerators at Agri, and it got me to wondering about bulding my own core aerator.....
Great job on the pulverizer. You have a total on how much you saved yet? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
