I agree its a meaningless reason. So what if the ratchet handles face out? He also mentions the paint is faded. That carries more meaning than the jacks if you ask me...

I agree its trivial, but a manufacturing defect is a defect even if its small. Look how people on this forum act when things are different between tractors!

I've bought a lot of blem tires, most likely no one would ever notice the mild cosmetic issue, but it still doesn't meet their QC so they sell it as defective.

I also know that since the trailer is rated at 18000lbs, it locks out a lot of potential buyers. Its too heavy for many buyers to tag & operate on a standard drivers license.

Best they can do for trailer and all the fees and delivery to me is $12,000.
I can get a new Sure Trac locally for 13k.
Tough call. Dont know if PJ trailer is all that much better-could even be not as good as Sure Trac.
PJ paint will be 1.5 years old and it will have to endure an 800 mile trip to get here, diminishing its condition further.

Basically what I am getting is 2000 more load capacity, which is valuable to me and a $1000 savings and giving back some paint fade and miles on the tires.

Local PJ dealer says he will do same trailer in RED for $12,295 *brand new*. BUT, salesman says he will have to see if PJ will give me the 18,000lb rating on the (2) 8k's. I will have to wait till February for delivery. If he will do that, I'm in.
Makes no sense to buy the one in Illinois....

Are the options the same on both trailers? Make sure to ask for primer, it is an option with PJ.

Yes, I did ($311 upcharge) Still waiting on 18,000lb answer. Dealer is painfully slow and must be asked the most basic questions 3 times to get an answer. Been dragging on for weeks
Also not real thrilled about PJ 12 ga steel folding sides...10ga would be much better on sides and 7ga on floor.
Will 12ga sides bend when pushing bales against them?
Also only 5” hoist. Other have 6” on their bigger dumps (Sure Trac)
This process sucks. I admit I am very specific and want my trailer exactly the way I want it, but man o man.

Belmont Trailer will build me EXACTLY what I want, but they want 19 grand. :ashamed:
