Yep. I had plenty of that at the start of this thread with my old worn out tracks. Much easier now that I've done a few.

I built a stump bucket using a 24" diameter steel pipe. Sharpened the front edge. Worked much better than the bucket. Depending on the tree variety it takes a little patience. I frequently used it until I got a TLB.

A stump bucket on that machine will do a good job. I had one on a 95 Kubota and it would dig good size stumps pretty quick.

Thanks for the info. That 95 would be a pretty comparable machine to mine.

The worst problem with the stump buckets is they need dry ground/traction to work where a backhoe or excavator isn’t bothered much by mud. But on solid ground I could do close to as good with the 95 as my 310 backhoe. I have to chuckle at the people putting stump buckets on tractor loaders.

This project moved from a concern for enough water runoff to a fight for survival. I can't remember too many summers here with this much rain. Heavy rains again last night filled the pond and topped the dam again. More rain on the way today, Wed, Thursday, and Friday.

Looking at the positives here. Your lake location is very good!!!! First chance you get you may want to channel a spillway at one end or the other.

You guys have been getting hammered lately. Those large rains slide by South of me and we get just what we need. Last night we got .5". Supposed to get more late in the week. Gonna try to help my friend pour a building pad Wednesday morning weather permitting.

Yep. just can't get things dried out. Most of my trees I cut up yesterday are floating today. If I can get the dam up another 3-4 feet the water will push back into the two ravines and will add a lot of capacity as well.

Yes. You are committed now. Don't give up on this. You'll greatly appreciate the lift you add to it now. Is going to be a great project when you are looking back at it.

Yep, seems the location is great. And if you get a handle on the inflow/outflow, you will get some nice water turnover and oxygen input thus hopefully keeping it from becoming stagnant.
