That was what Texas had when I checked on stocking. No thank you. I stocked my own fish. Don't want folks coming and going, not telling me how many fish they caught, having accidents and suing me, parking in the wrong spots, leaving their trash. The list is endless on why you need to stock your own fish.
hugs, Brandi

So true Brandi . . . ;)

Giving up land rights to your pond has always been a misconception here in Missouri and I think a lot of people have missed an opportunity to use a good resource because of that. Everyone I talk to says the same thing, that you give have to allow public access which is not true. Here is the requirements from Missouri Department of Conservation, right side of page . See attached pdf especially last paragraph.

I guess one has to go from state to state regs.

Yeah, that's been a fable for a long time here.

For me, the kids holding the bluegills in Eddie's picture would be worth more than any trophy fish... but that's just one man's opinion. Although that catfish must have been a lot of fun. Too bad we can't catch them like that through the ice here.

I was actually referring to the smiles on their faces while showing off their catch...

I was able to get the bar guard on this morning without draining the pond. Took about 30 minutes to get feeling back into my hands and glad I don't have to repeat this job. The pipe was about 8" below the water surface so I was able to drill a couple of holes in the pipe with a long bit and secure it with some 1/2" wide heavy plastic zip ties to make sure it doesn't pull out of the pipe.

Wow, that's cold work! Here's hoping the next time you cut a hole in the ice, it's for ice fishing.
