burning the center out of a tree

Betcha this person can type at a rate that would put most of us to shame. I'll also venture that Proper English and detail will be achieved if required.

Did anyone notice that without sentence structure or proper spelling the details leading up to the question were there and the question itself was easily understood.:D

Many of younger folks will communicate in this fashion as it is fast and conveys their message.:D

Some good points Egon.
However, to me the question itself has yet to be defined. Not easily understood to me. I came to a conclusion, but have no good idea if it was the right conclusion.

I find it sad to think this might be a person who will go out with a resume in hand and try to find employment. Best he can hope for is hired by someone in his family (maybe his pap's) will be familiar with what he can do, and can't do. If typing fast like this gets him by, fine by me. :)

But if he can't find work, he will be among the many who then blame the system for his problem, not knowing that it was his home, school, and college that didn't give him the help or discipline he needed. So now he flounders around and votes for a handout.

My Answer to your question:

Depending on size, I would remove the bulk of the interior with a chainsaw first. If you came in from both ends your could deal with a stump twice as long as your chinsaw bar. Then I would use a large tiger torch 300,000btu style and proceed to burn as needed to achieve the look you want.

Thank you every one for the help, and I again apologize for my grammatical errors, I don稚 claimed to be an English teacher but that was bad even for me. I see the general idea is drill a starter hole and then build a fire in it. Power tools are allowed and we are doing the burning off campuses on the property we are getting the tree from. Also no one in the organization has done one recently so there really is not a lot of knowledge on it.
the main reason I asked you guys is that I figure someone had some input and also it痴 a different than the normal box or rear blade debate.

That was refreshing that you came back with a well constructed response without so many errors. :) Good on ya!
Keep in mind that your writing and speaking skills give first impressions, and that will be important to your success. Are you an ag engineer?

So you are trying to hollow out the center of the stump log (root flare still intact). How long is the stump? Sure would like some pics of your progress. (now which do you prefer, the box blade or just the rear blade :) )

well the tree is as long as we want it not cut yet. but about 5-6 feet is what were gonna shoot for.

I dont have any real landscaping seet time to speek of yet! "i have a lot of ground man and mowing time though" but i would say box for leveling and using scarafiers. with a rear blade for snow, flood clean up and ditching due to angle and off set.

i am a mining student and am just really intrested in tractors and eventualy owning some property. It all started whn i worked at a large state park for three summers.

If I'm understanding correctly, it's easily done.

Drill a hole through the length of the log. This is easy to do with an old square
shank auger bit or expansion bit. Extend the bit with a bit extension or joint of pipe.

Torch the hole until it begins to burn.

Use a leaf blower to blow the fire through the hole.

Unless the log is very wet, it will quickly burn through, and the hole will expand uniformly.
Swap ends with the blower to avoid a funnel-shaped hole.

Amish kids are only required to finish 8th grade. When they graduate, they have excellent
reading, writing, and math skills including Pythagorean theorem. I blame the current generation
of poorly educated kids on the teachers and the government. Teaching is no longer a career
or calling. Teachers are now nothing more than unionized government bureaucrats. There are
exceptions, I do know a few good ones.
