40 Posts! For burning out the center of a cedar tree, complete with resume writing and grammar lessons, with a disertation on Amish study? That has to be a record, of some sort! But I'm curious, The final product is to be used for: 1) An 'Art' piece? 2) 18" x 6', Cedar Jack-O-Lantern? Does this have anything to do with your course of study, or just a 'fun' thing? Seems like hand digging and hauling a log of that size, doesn't have a very large 'fun' quotient! Any beer or gals involved? :)~Scotty

well its a 102 year tradition at my school and its to celebrate st patrics day. every organsation builds one and art piece is prolly the best discription. and the organasation this is for is for a resedence hall so there is no beer involved lol, possibly gals though. but hay still a day in the woods and we can say we did it lol

A new TBN meber and he has been sumarily shredded. Only one response was a solution to the question. I have worked for engineers that are great at writing reports and not much else. So stay fucused on the task at hand and answer the question, he asked for help.

I agree; he didn't ask for grammer or spelling correction. Just answer the question or don't!

Come-on Guys! He got some interesting tips, along with some gentle 'ribbing'. I work with a 'flock' of Engineers, and believe me, lesson one is to grow some ..........ah........thick skin. Maybe he was hanging on a scaffold, measuring clearance on a jet turbine, w/ one hand, on a Blackberry! But, eventually he's going to need 'functional communication'. I, for one, don't think folks went over the top. I still get critiqued on my e-mails, after 44yrs. And I'm sure I made mistakes in this one! ~Scotty (I'd still like to know how he made out!)

i was atualy hunched over a desk with a calc book and runing late for a meeting when i posted the first time.

the good news we located a tree removed it from the ground and prepared to move.

the bad the wood is frozzen so drilling out the hole is near impossible, also the feild the we have to go threw is a muddy hill so we have had to scrap that tree. we will use it next year. we are atempting to find a new one but this weekend is the last chance, i wish we had a backhoe.
