It would have to be with your moving running lawnmower. Just because it is running doesn't mean it is moving.

Personally, if you don't have a driveway going across the ditch, I would rather see it without the culvert.

1*A lot of people around here put a culvert in their ditch running the width of their property and then fill it over with dirt and plant grass over it. This defeats the purpose of having the ditch in the first place...
then they complain about all of the water that runs off the road into their yard.

:)
1* That's almost exactly what I did on the left side of my driveway last summer.
Buried a 110' of 15 inch culvert in a ditch that was 3 or 4 feet deep and wide and the state tells me I have to have an 8'' wide swale with a 6'' dip to the center. after installing the culvert.
Now that it's all done and I've had time to think about it the following questions come to mind.
***********
1*Since a 15'' culvert was enough to do the job why was the ditch 3 or 4 feet deep and wide?
Only thing I can figure is a 15'' culvert must hold as much water as a 3 or 4 foot ditch *
2*Since all I need is a small swale to carry the run off what was the purpose in burying 1000 bucks of culvert in a 3 or 4 foot ditch that shouldn't have been there in the first place???
The Right side of my drive way has the same missed up ditch like I had on the left side.
I intend to correct that problem also but without making the mistake of blowing a 1000 bucks needlessly burrowing culvert.

I think JimR had the running ditch not me!

My ditch only runs when it rains. It's lazy the rest of the time usually.

My ditch should be like this not a 3 or 4 foot one that has eroded away into an irregular gully across my front yard from one side to the other.

How do you plan to stop the erosion?
