Bush Hog 3715 value?

Here's the pic. In general I think the pics speak for themselves. It's a 15 footer, "aircraft" tires instead of laminated. He said the aircraft tires were better (I always thought the laminated tires were best?)

Chains all around.

I DID notice on a couple stickers a touch of what MIGHT have been overspray but he said he didn't do it and that's how it came from manufacturer. It might NOT have been overspray I must admit.

As you can see, he keeps it pretty clean. It's in a pole barn and he said he sprayed diesel on it after every use.

His asking price is $10,600

The blades. All the blades seemed to be in the same condition and the undersides all seemed to be just as clean as this (if in fact this is considered clean which I thought it was)

Oh, I might add that he changed the plumbing a bit. Instead of two lines to it, one raising the rear tires and the other raising the wings, he has three lines.

He told me he had some issues at a location and had hard time raising wing properly so he put valve in cab and each wing is independent of the other.

Personally, I liked that idea

That mower looks as good as brand new. I have aircraft tires on my Rhino, I have yet to have a flat. 3 hydraulic lines is the only way to go with a flexwing.

Seperate hydraulics for each wing is almost mandatory with a bat-wing. That enables you to raise one side, without raising the other, when it becomes neccisary (to fit between trees, fit the contour of a ditch, or something simular....)

The wear on the paint underneath is consistant with 75 acres a couple times over (I seem to recall hearing you say that's how much use it has on it) The blades look a little nicked up. That would indicate some rocky ground, or hidden obsticles. No serious damage though...

My Bush Hog bat-wing has about 2500 hours of service on it. It's not quite so "pretty" as that one anymore.

So guys, does $10,600 seem reasonable?

Memory tells me the dealer said over the phone (baiting me to come in & order and perhaps find a quote "mistake"??) that he'd special order one of those and let it go for about $13,000.

If you arbitrarily use 20% for the dealer then that takes it down to $10,400. And then if you knock off anything for usage.....

btw, I'm not saying the above logic is right/fair, just looking at it like Gaterboy mentioned and also like a new car. Drive car off lot and it immediately depreciates because of the dealers markup.

If you knock 20% off twice, then you are down to $8,320... would that be too cheap?

Again, it DOES look like it's been well taken care of. I'm not out to screw anyone over... likewise, I don't want to be taken to the cleaners.

Do you have the cash on hand? If so, have the cash and offer him $9000 -- if he balks, say I'll meet you halfway, $9800.

It's worth $10,600, but being used you should be able to get it for a bit less. The guy has a sure sale with you, and selling a batwing mower, as a private owner and not a dealer is not that easy.

If you get it, you will love it!
