Bush mowing the pasture

I had some locust and bradford pears I removed from a 1/2 an acre area. Bradford Pears will shoot up like locusts if you don't remove the roots. I used a subsoiler on my tractor over the area after I dug the stumps out with an excavator. It has been 2 years and no re-growth.

Paced off the cleared areas of my six acre field and have brush mowed about 1 1/4 acre and used about 5 gallons of non-ethanol 90 gas, so about 4 gallons to clear an acre so far. I went over the section that had a lot of saplings twice that constituted about 1/8 of what’s cleared, so maybe a little less if it was just shrubs and grasses.

Thanks, its nice to have a comparison with what a new engine is getting. I'm going to take a better measurement when I go brush mow again, but I was afraid the old motor was burning a lot of extra gas.

Where are you setting your throttle?

Most of the work so far has been heavy with saplings or thick shrubs,and wet grasses so the throttle has been mostly high
