Some time ago Tags was talking to I think Rat about a Harley rake. He mentioned a name brand of a rake or manufacturer of a rake. I can't seem to find the post. Can anyone assist?

Make a swale through the area. Basicly, a wide, shallow, ditch. Take a box blade and make something in this neighborhood " \/ " but make this about 10-12 ft. wide and maybe 6-8 in. deep. Clear as mud? Since water always follows the least resistance, This will redirect the flow to where it's wanted.

Bushy I was counting on calling you up for the more serious problems! Seriously,they said someone from the shop is suppose to go get some training sometime this winter. I hope he hangs around after his training. It better not be their service manager. But then again, he'd be gone out of my life. I'm assuming JD is setting training wookshops for the 110, since it's a new product.

Have any of the 110 owners tried a hyd.trencher on the front yet?
I really like the one on my 250 Deere and would hate to give it up
if I went to 110.
Has anyone had a SSL before they got their 110?
Just wondering how they compare.

What brand of trencher is yours? I'm interested in knowing more, is there information on the web.

Basically a trencher for a skidsteer loader (ssl) should attach (it has quick attach system like a ssl ) to the 110 front loader. There are two hydralic ports there. I think there is 12 gpm at that location. Though I'm not savvy to any of this.

My leaning style is geared more to hands on. I've read the owner's operator's manual 2 time but I really need the equipment in front of me. As in the attachment.

Where I live there is a limited amount of people that have such things and the 110 being so new, information is hard to come by. Do you have a picture of your rig that you can post?????????? Or a website that I can view?????????????

I've got the Deere SSL 48" trencher.
Works great,I have hi flow (28 gpm ?) too but it works ok on std. flow (18 gpm ?).
I have to switch over to use Woods 9000 BH.
It doesn't take much time but TIME=$$$$$$$$$.

Whoa, go away for a couple of days and "pow",tons o' posts.First off,Whoodle,congrats on your purchase,you will not be disappointed with the performance.

Next, Bushy,I'm a little late on this but the Harley rake is made by Glenmac (which you already know)a very stand up company that really gets behind its products and is there to assist its customers weather it be for parts or info.The Harley rake isn't really the same thing as a tiller,each implement is intended to do different things

bviously the tiller is good for loosening soil and hardpack to varrying depths and thats about it,where the Harley loosens the top couple of inches of soil,windrows the rocks,and leaves a perfect seedbed for planting,it will chew up sod but not as quick as a tiller.I have a 6 foot pro rake and have had it for years now and it has been the best investment I have ever made.They do make models for skid steers but require a minimum flow of 11 gallons per min (gpm) the 110 has 12gpm to the front and I've been told it will work on the 110 but not real well,the hydraulic motor tends to "stall" more often because the flow is so close to the minimum requirement,but I still want to try one.As far as attachments my dealer has a hoe mounted auger,tilting hoe grading bucket,hammer,and buckets all available for rent to fit the 110,but they also sell the Deere mini excavators and the 35 series excavators share the same size quick coupler as the 110 so they share attachments.

Joereal,Had the same problem when I first took my hoe off,when the rockshaft didn't move after I had put all the arms on I just about lost my mind,I was on a job and getting ready to rake it out and the arms wouldn't lift,I took a deep breath ,calmed myself down and remembered reading something about the hydraulics switching automatically when the hoe was removed,so I looked for a swithch,found it on the right rear,and tweaked it a bit as you and Bushy have,and all has been good since.

By chance do you know who makes or markets the auger for the boom of the 110? I am interested in knowing more about one. Can you help.

I am concerned with the inability of the 110 to run such things as a Harley rake off the front loader. I originally thought that the 110 was design with such things in mind.

The original brochure on the 110, billed it as having the attributes of a compact excavator, tractor and skid steer loader. Suggesting: excavator's digging abilities, with more flexibility, the turf-friendiness of a tractor, combined with a skid steer's hydralic capabilities. This is from page 2, 1st paragraph of the JD 110 brochure. Why I'm getting a little excited is. I've found an attachment similiar to a Harley rake, called a Rock Hound that perpares the soil, collects rock in a bucket and you can dump them in a truck with this unit attached to your front loader.

Tags can you help me with this? Where have you seen the best explanation of the Hydraulic system for the 110? I need too read this.

Has anyone had a Harley rake on the front or a Rockhound. Will it handle a ditcher, though I think a ditcher on the rear of the 110 would be the cats meow for visability and the reposition switch. Though I need schooling on the characteristics of a trencher. Could you operate one from the backhoe operator's seat?

I wish JD would make available exactly what can be use and where it can be used. The loal people don't seem to have the info. All that I hear is that the "Work Site Pro" attachments will work. I can't seem to find anything specific to the 110.

What do you run your rake with?

Bushy, with only 12 gpm maximum flow on the 110 for external implements, your going to hard pressed to operate a lot, particularly hydraulic motors. Once you start operating things with hydraulic motors, your going to be disappointed. The smallest box blade skid steer rake Harley has which is 48" in raking width requires at least 8 gpm, to go to the 6' width, it takes 13 gpm. A skidsteer is pretty much just a hydraulic pump with no concerns for a power steering pump or PTO output, a tractor needs to address both concerns. Many tractors can operate a auger for posts fairly easly, I have seen a Kubota L4340 with one on the loader arms. An auger motor while still a high gpm device, operates at a slow speed, my experience with them has shown me that it does better at marginal gpm flows. By the way, Bobcat also makes a landscape rake that is "all in one" that is, it rakes and collects rocks in a cage you can dump in a truck etc. There are still tons of things you can operate with your tractor, especially those requiring a PTO. The Harley rake I use, an 8' model doesn't even begin to tax the power of the PTO. Really the only limiting factor is the weight of them which can be an issue for smaller tractors. Rat...
