Howdy, I got a massey scut with a ssqa loader for the bucket. I'm looking to buy ssqa plate to weld a plow onto it. Are they all the same size, and if not, what dimensions should I be concerned about?

Also, need recommendations on material thickness. Would you say 3/16 is adequate for welding a "light duty" plow onto it? It's just gonna be the plow I used to have on my garden tractor.

SSQA plates and their connecting point dimensions are a standard measurement. I say connecting points because on the whole some plates are square, some have taper sidewalls, etc. For a SCUT, a 3/16" plate should be plenty as realistically your driving square from behind the loader arms and not wrenching/twisting in the plate itself.

The only SSQA thing you need to be weary of is a mini-SSQA plate which, it memory serves, is narrower than a regular SSQA setup.

A 3/16 plate is not that strong, depending how it is fabricated with the attachment.

I've used several of these plates from Titan to make some custom attachments. Competitively priced, fast free shipping. Has worked well for me. They offer full plates or cut out plates in different thicknesses.

Yeh snow plow, sorry for the confusion. This:

Cglaser, thanks for the info!

Ruffdog, I'm thinking to hack off the mounting bracket on the plow's push beam, weld angle iron to both sides of it, and then weld that to the plate. Maybe also weld a 45 deg angle vertical support beam between the push beam and the plate.

This just for doing my own driveway, nothing crazy.

Thanks. Yeh, I did check out Titan. I also found [URL="https://www.tomahawkattachments.com/order/tomahawk-universal-mount-plate/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwy6T1BRDXARIsAIqCTXq18ltEnQpaiMP36Zy-GVF3ksIovTU8G5j8dVXxTSg9dKgj6AFko0oaAseMEALw_wcB"]this
and to go really cheap, this.

If you angle the blade will it cover the width of you tire tracks? May have to add extensions.

I can put front and rear blades on my setup. I find the rear blade works better on a gravel drive an seldom attach the front blade. Maybe I just need more practice time. Personally, I think it needs gauge wheels instead of the skid plates that always seem to dig in.
