What did you get for a trailer and where did you get it? That price is about $1500 less than what I was quoted for same length, with BT, for only 8K lb loading.

* My bad I justed checked my records and I paid $3600. (The landscape trailer I looked at was $2800. Sorry about the bad memory :( )

I just called the trailer palce and they no longer carry the brand I bought in 18' 10K, which was a Holmes. They now have one made by Carry-On ?(sp) 18' 10K equipment trailer for $3495 and he said they discount the in-stock trailers $300 which would bring it down to $3195. The dealers name is Airport Trailer Sales, in Fitchburg MA, (978) 534-7666. TractorByNet.com | John Deere, Kubota, New Holland, and more! (If you want you can call them to see what they have in stock, they might have a smaller or longer trailer, depending on what you are looking for, but I would at least get an equipment trailer not a landscape or car carrier due to the additional bracing that is on the equipment ones.) My dad knew one of the owners and I believe they took a little more off when I got mine but I think mine stickered around $4200 and got it for I $3600. I only had to pay sales tax when I registered it.

I have an H&H manually operated tilt trailer that I converted to an electric hyd. tilt unit. It has a 20' deck with 82" between the removable fenders. I have about $4500 invested but a plain 20' trailer with ramps on their site 8.5HD20 is $2730, ST8 UT20SS is $2440. Both are rated for 7K. I'm sure you can find a 20' trailer for under $3K. There are many to choose from. PJ and Appalachian also have reasonable prices.

The trailer you buy will depend on your needs. I wanted a tilt bed, wood deck trailer with 82" between the fenders that I could use for anything so I could haul cars, trucks, mini excavators etc. If you don't need an extra wide unit a 7K landscape trailer would probably work. Standard width for them is 76" between the fenders and cost less. If you are ever going to haul the tractor with attachments such as a rotary mower, rake, back blade etc. on back you need to account for that. I would suggest at least a 20' double axle trailer with brakes on both axles.
Measure the length and width of your tractor for a minimum size and go from there.

Craigslist is a good place to look for stuff, IMO.
Just saw this trailer listed on my local list.
"24 ft gooseneck trailer,20 ft flat with4 ft dovetail,pressure treated floor,14000 gvwr,electric brakes both axles,fold down ramps,stake pockets,adjustable coupler,brand new tires with spare.very good condition,ready to haul.$2800.00 or best offer.........540 860 9595"

'Course, Harrisonburg, VA is a long long way from Maine or New Mexico....
but thought I'd post it as an FYI.

I don't own a backhoe.....yet, but here's a couple of pics of my trailers. Both are 7000# with electric brakes all four wheels w/break-away kits. The first is the CK20 on the 14'. The second is the CK30 on the 16'. I have also hauled the CK30 on the 14' when I've had to get in tight places with truck and trailer.
This should give you and idea of how much trailer you need.

=================

I have a 16' that is flat and is 19' 8" in total when you add deck plus A frame and hitch. The deck is wolmanized and measures 6' 8" X 16' in length with 8'6" outside the wheels. It is made by Forest River and is pictured at their website as the car hauler. It has 7000 # gvwr and I just bought it brand new with self stowing ramps in side. I paid $1800 for the thing.For the Winter monthes my CK20 travels with just the snowblower and FEL and in the Summer it has to take care of the CK20 with blower being replaced by backhoe. Tight fit but it works. I will back my tractor on up the ram when loading so blower/backhoe leads the way.

I just got it and here is a picture of the CK20 being delivered on a 20' beavertail with boom and dipper spread out on installed backhoe.

take a look
