Buying a Welder

Good miller **** :laughing:

Well i did it
The TB302 air pak with cooler,water separator,gfi,ect
Spectrum 625 extreme plasma cutter with 20 ft torch
Suite case 12 RC with remote voltage adjuster and trigger hold 350 amp gun
50 ft 02 cable with stinger
50 ft 02 ground cable i have a 400 amp clamp
50 ft controller cable
Cover
They did beat all quotes that i had by 10% plus i don't have to pay shipping
All a little over 14
Will be delivered to dealer in about 10 to 15 days :drool: :drool: :drool:

I only got what was need to setup a professional welding trailer :thumbsup:
except for extension cables i'll get more with twist lok connectors if i need them but in the past i never needed them
all the rest i have

Rage 3 extreme 3-10 in saw 337.?? with shipping from amazon
They don't carry them at the local airgas store

It's only money :laughing:

That's not allot of money to invest in that sort of thing. With the right type of work you'll pay for it in no time. Going blue was a good choice but the red ones are great machines as well. Good luck with your new equipment :thumbsup:

My friend and i do ornamental iron work and i have my Kubota to do work with
and i still work for some people operating equipment most are owner operators
that need temporary help but i also do the welding and maintenance on the rig

People come to me and say (owner contractors)..what do i need to do to build a pad on this lot and i know several guys that have equipment sitting right now and i run it...i am a consultant not a contractor

But since i do a lot of repair welding i wanted the air pak.. plasma gouging is faster than carbon arc and all you need for the plasma cutter is power and air
And i have relined the bowls of several old scrapers and installed new molboards and slobber bit mounts and dozer blades,grousers ....re builds hence the wire feed pak it will be a lot easier to do this using 045 or 065 wire

Most of these guys have ranger 8 and similar welders and while there good the Trail Blazer 302 air pak is a far better welder for doing this type of work....I have had a 400 amp Hobart and a Lincoln 225 amp welders both good machines
Because i don't do re builds all the time i don't need a big welder but i some time i need more than a 200 + amp machine and i want the versatility that the TB 302 offers...i can install ornamental iron guard rails in the mourning and be hard facing a dozer blade in the afternoon.... you get the idea

Most of these guys cannot buy new or even newer equipment in todays economy...one of these guys got his dozer re possessed because he couldn't
come up with his last payment of 1500.00 and nobody had it to loan at the time

I spent 15 years operating heavy equipment. Got tired of it and went into vehicle repairs which led to a machine shop and welding. Most of my stuff is done in the shop. Just bought a new milling machine. It should be here next week. I'm supposed to be an auto repair shop but you do what has to be done to make money. Our economy is booming and this week our dollar was worth more that yours in the US and is expected to stay that way for awhile. Good luck with your new gear.
