Hi all,
New member, first post. After doing several weeks of research and pricing on used tractors - mostly craigslist and this excellent site - I believe I have settled on buying a B2150. I think I'm getting a pretty decent price but wanted to run it by the experts here. Actually, the guy I'm buying it from was quite knowledgable on tractors, so it would not surprise me in the slightest if he's here reading this!

Anyway, it's a B2150 with loader and HST with 1400 hours for $10,250. I live on 5.5 acres and will use it for brush cutting, clearing and a little grading and leveling. I am also getting a 5' rotary mower and box with rippers for around $1400 and he is delivering it for free.

Sound reasonable?

Welcome to TBN! Good used tractors these days can be nearly as costly as a new one. I think that sounds like a reasonable price if you're satisfied with the machine's condition.

Just my opinion, but that tractor is 15 to 20 -some-odd years old. If it were me, I'd look for a more current, mid-twenties HP machine like a 7610. You shouldn't have any problem finding a nice one for 10.5 or less. Good tractor, but a couple grand higher than I'd pay.

Well I asked for your opinion, so I'm happy to get it. This is exactly the kind of information I came here for. Thanks!

I recommend anyone looking at a used tractor go to the Kubota build your tractor site. Build a comparable new tractor and figure about a 10% discount off the listed price for a closer to true price. Then look between new and used to see the price difference and decide if the used tractor is worth the asking price vs a new one.
Course if your going to finance both then find financing for used and figure financing for new and see if the used is still worth it's financed price vs the new at it's financed price. I also recommend contacting Barlows for a real delivered to your house price, new and used.

I bought a used b7500 last year at a local dealer in the North East for $8500.00 . Tractor had 450 hours and came with a Fel / MMM they did a full service before delivery . The B7500 is a touch less horse at 21hp 17hp at the pto .

I think the price is a touch high for the age and hours . It took about 8 months to find the one I ended up with . I almost went new but then this showed up as a trade ,

good luck with your search

That is probably my favorite B-series machine. In my opinion the hydrostat in that machine is one of the toughest they built for the B's. I also love that little 4 cylinder engine. I would not hesitate to buy one. But I do agree that the price is a little high. If it was immaculate with the Kubota BF350 loader, I'm thinking $8500 tops. But, I could be wrong. Used tractors bring what the market will bear. $1400 for a box and mower seems a little steep too, unless it is a Gannon box with hydraulic rippers or an actual Bush Hog mower not an off brand economy mower.
