I have been thinking about my use and for what I need to accomplish a backhoe is unnecessary. It will also need to be removed to use the 3 pt hitch and I'm considering a brush hog with rear discharge over a mmm. So this may become an art piece that sits in the barn collecting dust. I can rent a backhoe if I find any projects that I need to do that require a backhoe and put the money to better use. Thanks for the input you guys have helped steer me in the right direction and possibly saved me thousands of dollars. I can get a terramite with backhoe used for $5k. Which is what the BH would cost so you guys are right it's an unnecessary expense

In some cases more horsepower isn't always better but I think it may suit your needs. With 40+ acres I think you'll find having the bigger tractor a benefit.

Buy the biggest tractor you can with your budget. Kioti is running a special right now where you can get the NX5010 with FEL for around 20k.

I just stumbled upon a Kubota L2500 with FEL. It's a little underpowered at 27 hp but it weighs in at just around 3,000 pounds. The asking price seems reasonable. I am going to take it for a test drive. Anything I should know about these units. It is the 4x4 as it does have the MFWD and power steering. There is no HST. Thoughts from you guys? Thanks

I have a B2710 which is the same hp but lighter tractor. I use it for spraying, landscape rake and cutting grass. Use 6 foot rfm with good result and I think a 52 inch rough cut for brush and it is great for that. It does have hst. I have used it with a 500 gallon trailer sprayer but not a recommendation with that much weight. That sprayer loaded will weigh over 4,000 pounds. Pulls it fine in field as long as dirt is not muddy. Think it will move any trailer you would have if not loaded. I would look at the ground clearance if you will be putting in the woods on any tractor. If you will use a blade with on your drive no idea how well it will work but the weight of the L over the B would be better than the B which a 6 foot blade is too much for mine if on an angle.
