Buying Rifle magazines

Toilet paper became scarce long before anyone posted it on facebook. It is common knowledge we should all keep a two week supply of necessary items but few of us do. Any time something happens that resembles an emergency all the folks that are unprepared start storming the stores and that creates a shortage. The shortage creates the panic and over buying when people find the product they fear is not going to be available.

Facebook may be one avenue for information but if it wasn't there it would be on the phones or some other method of sharing. It's what we have always done.

When this hit I had enough toilet paper to last a couple weeks but the shortages caused me to buy a couple extra packs the first time I saw it on the shelf. I also had plenty of masks including a couple of N95 variety and several boxes of nitrile gloves. We also keep several gallons of bleach and alcohol at all times.

I'm not living in a bunker with two years of MREs but I do believe in keeping some essentials. I like to have a couple weeks worth of canned goods at all times. Mainly due to living in an area threatened with bad weather or hurricanes. Just had my drums filled with diesel for my tractors and generator too.

I don't know if any of us are ready for what MAY happen with this thing. Stories of large meat packing plants shutting down with a third of their staff being infected is a real concern.

And here we are spreading fear and panic buying on the tractor forum. Maybe in times of emergencies we should shut down all the forums. ;)

Were you trying to order high capacity mags?

Bought a couple of Ruger 380 mags off eBay this week. Ebay had some kind of message in red on the checkout page warning to make sure it was okay to buy in my state but nothing flagged the sale. Ordered on Monday and got in the mail today. They were ordinary stock mags.

What does Facebook have to do with preppers and ammo shortages? Preppers gonna prep! I bought a couple of new guns this week myself. Guy at Bass Pro said when it all started they had one day sales of 30 grand in the hunting department. He said the total for the whole store was only 45.

Just needing some more mags that I thought I had...for one firearm.

I don't care for Facebook because too much personal data is available..i.e. family members, you interests and dislikes to name a few. I know there are pros about it but it's just to invasive for me.

Talked to a trucker delivering paper products to local store. I asked why toilet paper is hard to find. He said as soon as someone spies him unloading paper, there on their phones to Facebook posts. Within minutes the lines start forming.

Also it was posted in paper last week that Facebook was going nuts over flower and yeast shortages...which weren't happening. Next thing you know, flower shortages were happening.

Let痴 open the economy and shut down Facebook.

"flower shortages" ???
Maybe flour shortages?
