Buying the first Kubota

I've been wondering about the buying and new owner experience with Kubotas. For any Kubota owner, is there anything you would have bought with the tractor when you purchased it in the way of options or add-ons, knowing what you know now? Is there anything you wish the tractor had or didn't have now that you've owned it a while? If everthing else were the same including price and dealer would you still have opted for Kubota over the comparable JD or NH?

Didn't take me long to wish I had gotten:

Hydraulic Tip 'n' Tilt
Tooth Bar
Welded Bucket Hooks

In all of my 30+ hours I have never regretted buying orange. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Orange is all I've ever owned and they exceed what I ask of them/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.I got items desired at time of purchase because of previous ownership and TBN! Did switch dealers because of price.

Only thing that I "might" have gotten that I haven't yet is:

1. different mower (maybe)
2. post hole digger
3. clamp-on forks

...but those things have nothing to do with "buying Kubota". I'm very happy with my little beast.

The only change I would make if I could go back and replay would be to change the tires. I have the Firestone Industrial tires and I probably would have gotten a set with more plys to be more puncture resistant. (No holes to date, knock knock knock on wood)

Everything else is just about perfect for my needs.

I've owned IC Cubs, 140's, Ford 8N With FEL, JD track loader and other "junk". Have a very good friend that is a JD dealer but went Orange this time. Absolutely no regrets. Got all the "stuff" with the tractor except Tip n Tilt. Now i have to do it myself.Performance is beyond my expectations. Dealer is exceptional. ( Steve Carver ) email him, he may beat you local deal!

GRANT: u did not mention which kubota u were thinking of getting, makes diff. in what u get for the money. i have a b2400, all the options i want. hydro, ps, position control. fel. back blade and rear finish mower. things i wish i would have gotten? toothbar(which i am getting now) really depends on what U WANT TO DO WITH IT.. as far a buying kubota, i think it is the best. MHO

I'm leaning towards the 2910 with it's combination of size to use inside my barn with the loader, power and price. I like the Boomer and JD products too but I found a really good Kubota dealer 12 miles from my house who is very reasonable. I'm planning to get a new rotary mower, a boxblade and new rear blade. The T&T looks so handy I'm thinking about it too. At first I thought it was too extravagant but I'm changing my mind on that. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
What does the toothbar help you with?

I looked at the B2910 and got some quotes and was all set to go that route, when my neighbor offered me his B2710 with only 126 hours on it. The savings was too good to pass up. I have only put about 3 hours on it, but it is well above what I thought it would be! I think you will be very happy with either one of them.

Since your thinking about a 2910, make sure you go hydro. If I had gotten something other than an M series I would have gone hydro.

Options that I got I've very happy with: 4 wheel drive is a must, FEL, toothbar, canopy.

Hope this helps. As to which brand, they are all great tractors. I just liked the Kubota better. It's personal preference.
