BX 22 - Three point won't lift

Have a elderly friend that is not computer savy with a Kubota BX 22 and his three point won't lift. Recently purchased it and said the three point went up when the PO was showing him the tractor. He says he turned the knob under the seat both ways and didn't solve the problem. I'm thinking it might be something simple and hoping for ideas before i drive the 150 miles each way to go and see if I can get it working for him. Thanks

Does this model have a backhoe? I'm not sure, but might be a valve to shut off the 3ph when backhoe is in use.

Knob is probably the mower height knob. Has no effect on 3ph. 3ph is independent of that.

Check oil? Especially if loader is raised, low oil might keep 3ph from working.

RPM. At idle, my 3ph doesn't work. Go to 1500RPM and it should work if rpm is the issue.

It does not have a backhoe, don't know if it ever did. I haven't actually ever seen this tractor, he hasn't had it very long.. If I remember correctly he said he checked the oil level. I will have him try the RPM's you suggest and look for a shut off knob.

If it's a BX22, it originally came with a backhoe from the factory... it was the backhoe version of the BX2200. There should be a pair of hydraulic lines or couplers at the back of the tractor, above the PTO, for the backhoe. When the backhoe is removed, one of the lines going to the backhoe is supposed to be "jumpered" back into the other coupler on the back of the tractor. If you don't do this, the 3 point lift will not work. Here's a video of doing that on a BX22:

This needs to be checked before the motor is started again. If you run it very long without those lines connected together, you can mess up the hydraulic pump.
