I received my tire chains yesterday, 4 days after I ordered them. I bought the 2-link spacing with the V-bar from Tirechains.com.
The chains went on easily, and appear at first glance to be a quality made product. I especially liked the fact that they were sized quite well, leaving about 4-5 links left after tightening. I have not really used them, except for driving around checking tightness. I did drive into a bank of snow and pushed it back from the driveway. The BX actually almost ran out of power before the wheels spun, something I've never experienced!
Hope this helps any BX owners considering chains.

I echo your comments. I ordered the same set-up for my BX 2200 earlier this month on a monday, and they arrived on wednesday.
In NW CT. this past week, our 9" X-Mas snow had an ice base to it, and the chains dug in securely to the ice/gravel driveway.
A quick note to make sure that the inside chain is tight, and any loose links secured. The BX has numerous linkages, hoses and wires on the inside of the fenders, that the chain could grab if loose.

Thanks for the post. I'll check out tirechains.com. I'm in the market for some for my BX22. Was there a specific model number for the BX?

What type of tensioners did you buy?

I got the ones with the springs and the ring in the center for my b2910 and think they are the greatest, but I don't know if they would work on the smaller BX tires...

I got the tensioner kit through Tirechains.com. They have 5 springs and a small chain for the center per side. Works great. I had chains on all summer because I was doing alot of dirt work.

I got the spring tensioners from Tirechains.com.They must be a smaller size than yours, Bill, as they wouldn't work on a bigger tire than the BX.
I have looked very carefully at the inside clearance of the chains.I learned a lesson years ago when I chewed up the inside of an ATV fender by not securing the extra chain well enough!!
I am not sure of the model number, but if you go to the website, it is easy to "pick and click" your way to the correct chain.

Here is a pic of the tensioners on my B2910...

I think they may be different than those that fit the bx, but that ring in the center is pretty neat, and I suppose one could make his own setup for the bx if he wanted to...

For the BX 2200,the rear tire size is 26 x 12 x 12. The part number for that tire size is 85308v55.
Those are the "V" bar type w/ 2 link spacing.
The price for the pair is $111.60 with UPS shipping @$19.95 for a total of $131.55. Non-"V" bar and/or 4 link spacing are less.

My local dealer could order similar chains through a local
vendor, but his cost was $180.00 with a list price of $220.00.

A final note, these folks sell tire chains for most every thing that has a tire. Check out the website @ www.tirechain.com.

A Happy Customer:
