I bought a couple of dollys from one of the box stores, either Home Depot or Lowes that I use for the backhoe. I can move it around the garage to slide it out of the way. I've found it's easier to hook back up that having it on the floor. The first pic it rolling it close enough to hook up the hyd lines.

The second pic is putting down the outriggers so you can back the tractor under the bottom hooks, I put the first dolly out first.

Third pic is using the hoe to push the top into place so it can be latched.

Nice setup you have there. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I'd like to do the same thing with my BH75 but I'm not sure about the way to do it because of the total weight of the backhoe. Probably if I put more wheels it could be ok.

Last pic it the most important. Make sure before you start that the 3 point lift arms are in UP. Don't ask me how I know but if they are down the backhoe will not latch. It will drive you crazy. I remove and re-install the backhoe often and have found this works for me. Cheers, Richard

Quick question,

I am in the process of making a dolly..

Since my Hoe weight around 850 pounds (B4672A) what type of wheels should I use, (i.e. rated to what weight?).

Is for example 4 wells rated to 300 lbs be enough? I am not a physics guru but I assume that the weight of the hoe would be spread out to each wheels....

Thanks

I have the same problem for my BH75.

The solution: if you're not sure about it put more wheels.

I looked high and low for the post I made about my dolley, which is a tricycle design for the hoe for my L3010.

It is real heavy as well.

I used 3 6" steel casters - I think each has a 600 or 900 pound capacity. They cost about C $18 each.

Anyhow, the beast rolls easy on a concrete floor. If you use rubber wheels, they have huge rolling resistance, and the smaller the diameter the greater the resistance. Steel has very little rolling resistance if they are on a hard surface.

A tricycle design has the advantage of being more maneuverable - you don't have to 'point' two swivels in the right direction to move. So I have one swivel at the front (under the bucket) and 2 fixed under the main part of the hoe.

I would consider these '2 part' designs a bit of a hazard if the hoe 'relaxes' over time.

Anyhow, if anybody wants pictures of my dolly I could probably re-take them, though I would prefer not to have to unhook the hoe tyo do it because I'm using it.

correct. If the weight is distrubed equally. If not, then 2 would see more force on the wheels.

So 4 wheels rated at 340 each would be fine. Or 300 or 350 would also be fine. Also is the rated weight on each wheel (caster) the max rate or the operating weight?
