Loader Bx 23 utility lights

   / Bx 23 utility lights #11
I have a 2005 bx 23
1*I would like to put 2 lights forward and 2 lights facing rear
2*gonna attach to rops with clamps and wire loom .. What is the max wattage the tractor will handel ?
3*I am going to wire them on 2 different circuits off the battery with relays as every one knows you cant see forward with the front loader on or up really high...
4*What will the stock altenator handel
1*I would go with 2 lights that swivel 360 degrees which gives you light all the way around the tractor .
2*I would mount them to a light bar that attaches with magnets to the rear top of the ROPS . . . .
3*I would wire them to the Ign switch.
4*15 amps.
If you mount install wire and switch them in this manner you will have more than enough light and won't have to wory about changing alternators.
How hard is it to install anybody ever do one?
This has been discussed different times and places on T B N.
Do some serches and see what you come up with.

So your saying two lights at 15 watts each for a total of 30 watts will work then..

There is(or was)a 40 amp alternator kit for B and BX tractors to replace the dynamo. It was about $200 but I've heard it was discontinued-was purchased through Whole Goods(see salesman).Others have assembled it with e-bay parts.Good Luck!

Yes. As is, it should be able to handle a 30 watt load.

What lights are you using that draw 15 watt?

Wire the work lights so you can turn them on independently of all other electrical draws. Then you can just turn the worklights on when you need them. My headlights are useless when I have the loader on anyway, and I don't need turns and tails on my property. Then you have more power available if you want to use conventional bulbs.

Okay think I know what I am going to do use two 50 watt lights mounted under the top of the rops on swivels .. As someone else stated the headlights are blocked by the loader so I will not use them only flashers it should be fine...

The biggest advantage of the new LED lights is the low current requirements. I'm looking at two that draw 18 watts each - marketed as having 1350 lumen output. I just need to fabricate a cage of sorts to minimize possibility of limb-related damage.
