BX 23 w/60\" MMM Level Adjustment?

Hello,

I have a BX 23 w/60" MMM and the PTO Bagger. I think this is the best setup I have ever used to cut grass. My question is about the side to side level adjustment or lack of? I realize that this deck is self balanceing and those spring seem to be in the same position but I have noticed that the discharge side of the deck seams to be cutting closer to the ground. Is there a linkage adjustment? In looking under my machine there appears to be a tab on each side with a screw thread. Is this the adjustment I am looking for? Any input would be most helpful. Thank You!

Yes, that's the adjustment you are looking for.
Take a look at you manual for all the instructions.
Also do a search here, as there have been numerous discussions concerning the adjustments to these decks.

Re: BX 23 w/60\" MMM Level Adjustment?

I have the same set up and I noticed mine appears to be the same, lower on the discharge side. I have not tried to adjust it and I don't think that I can tell by the cut that it appears lower on the discharge side, so I don't think that I am going to mess with it. If you do try to adjust it can you post what you do and how it goes? Thank you

Re: BX 23 w/60\" MMM Level Adjustment?

Mine is the same, lower on right front. I did adjust it some, but never got it totally level. I move the wheel on that corner one notch higher to keep the wheel from always being in contact with the ground, but as you say, the cut is good enough for me.

Re: BX 23 w/60\" MMM Level Adjustment?

Your mower manual details this quite well. You have to make sure the front link is at a certain length by tightening or loosening the nuts on both sides, then you adjust the lift links on the tractor...if you look closeley you'll see the that lifting point is threaded. It's an easy adjustment...your dealer should've done it though. Oh, one other thing...make sure the pressure's right in your tires....

Re: BX 23 w/60\" MMM Level Adjustment?

Adjust the MMM without the PTO bagger chute.
The extra weight will affect the balance.

Adjust the mower per manual, then adjust the self-leveling spring tension to accomodate the additional bagger chute weight.
