BX 2350 is a plastic nightmare

My BX2200 is 90% metal. When I was looking at the new models at one of my local dealers, I couldn't believe all the plastic. Even the MMM deck deflectors are plastic now. My MMM has a metal chute. Especially with diesel and the vibration, I am surprised how much plastic is used. Maybe when I eventually upgrade mine, they will have made more improvements.

I have a 2006 BX24 & I have been plagued by the cracking & replacement of plastic fenders & such. Found a couple of used slightly cracked fenders on EBAY & was able to repair enough to make the tractor look semi good. I use E6000 adhesive to strengthen cracks when they appear, helps. As to having something bounce off the plastic, won't happen. I had a loose board fall against a previous fender & it broke into a dozen pieces, first replacement, another replacement when a dead tree limb fell onto that one. Tried to get Kubota to advise if a BX25 fender would fit in place of the plastic ones, they took the information, but never returned any calls. BX24 is getting enough hours to start thinking about trade, don't think new one will be orange.

Man, what a bummer! Kubota should have done a recall. But don't give up on orange just because of the plastic hood on the BX24. My BX25 With a metal hood is extremely sturdy and I am very happy with it. I don't think we will see any more plastic hoods on any of these tractors in the future.

Not to turn this thread into a real rant, but over time many of us have had to shell out hundreds of dollars to replace or install the seat, battery screen supports, floor stays ( to keep floor from collapsing), fenders cracking, dash panel leaks, hood latches breaking, fuel senders rusting, tie rod boots, plastic fan breaking, & etc. & all because the "recalls" were not really recalls according to Kubota, only "handled as required" or when someone complained. Not the way to handle customer loyalty. This is a major investment & most of us do not have the means to go out & buy something else, we just live with it until we can.

FYI, many of those where recalls. Floor stays, dash changes, support kits, etc. It is up to your dealer to get those done.

In our shoes, we are seeing Kubota do more campaigns and updates than other companies. In my eyes, its because they care about their products enough to correct things rather than just letting things go.

Is there a website from kubota where the consumer can see if there are any campaigns or recalls for their kubota? It would seem they (kubota) would want you to know if they value you as a customer. For myself I've not had any issues with kubota.

There is not. Its the responsibility of the dealer you bought the machine from to come out and update your tractor. If your machine is 2nd hand, a dealer can update the registration in the computer system.

Practically every part of my 06 BX24 plastics have broken, many areas have fallen off, hood had cracked so much that I had to remove the head lights. I have used sheet metal and pop rivets to hold many areas from falling off. Often consider buying the body parts for the BX25, but hard to justify just for looks. The other day my wife asked what the **** I did to cause all damage, she thought I was lying when I told her it was a common problem, (but she always thinks I lying because she's smarter than me, LOL)

As for dealer responsibility, we have around three here in the upstate SC & after several issues over the years with service I wouldn't let one them turn a wrench on a pedal tractor much less my BX. FYI most of the parts I had to purchase came from Messick's, since I could get no satisfaction locally from a dealer or the others in the area that I purchased the BX24 new.
