BX 2680 idle speed

My new BX 2680 was delivered yesterday and after starting I noticed the idle speed to be 1500 RPM which seemed high. I questioned the delivery person and he said that was normal. There is no reference in the owners manual as to correct idled speed and my maintenance manual is on order. Anyone know the correct idle speed. I would think it would be around 850-1000 RPM as that was the idle speed on my B2650 with the same engine

I'll answer my own question, I touched base with the service manager at my local Kubota dealership and according to Kubota 1500 is the correct idle for that engine . He surmised that it is an emission issue. Never had an engine, gas or diesel that idled that high but it is what it is

Yup, my 2380 is the same. I'm not sure emissions has anything to do with it, more likely just due to the small size, needs the rpm's to maintain enough hp/tq to run the hydro pump efficiently.
