The 3 point hitch on my BX22 isn't working. I have no idea when it stopped, since I just got around to installing my weight bucket. I removed the loader valve from the system and set it as originally used without loader valve in place. I have allowed the machine to come up to temperature, and the fluid levels are correct. I checked the linkage and it is properly connected and moving. I also checked the knob under the front of the seat and it is open. The tractor doesn't even change sound when you move the lever. Any suggestions as to what to check next?

Do you have a MMM? Does it raise/lower? Turning the lower knob the right dirrection?

Sounds like you've checked all the easy fixes.
I don't know much about the BX22 as the hydraulics are different from the BX23 but that said, I do know that the 3PH and FEL hydraulics are in series with one another on both tractors. I'm not sure which subsystem receives the hydraulic power 1st but inorder for the 3ph to work, power must route to and then back from the FEL control valve and/or the bypass connections.
If I remember correctly the FEL control valve on the BX22 removes with the FEL and if this is correct there must have been a way to to connect the power beyond line to the power return line, like the BH lines.

Did the FEL work up until you disconnected it? If so then that would indicate that you've got the power circulating.

Double check all your connections.

Good luck

MMM doesn't raise. Took the loader off in the fall and installed the front mount snowblower. The snowblower works fine and raises and lowers properly. Took that out of the system to figure out the three point hitch problem. It acts like it isn't even part of the system. :(

In looking at the WSM hydraulic system manual for the BX23, the power flow to the 3PH is such:
1) Pump
2) Flow priority valve
3) FEL control valve
4) BH control valve
5) 3PH

The priority valve, relief valve and 3PH control is located in the block called the Hydraulic Control Valve assembly.

The priority valve splits the pumps output between the FEL, BH & 3PH and the power steering assembly & pto clutch assembly.

If the HST, power steering and pto works then it's safe to assume that the pump is fine. It would also be safe to assume that at least part of the priority valve is also functioning properly.

The question then remains is the priority valve providing hydraulic power to the FEL control, then to the BH control and then on to the 3PH. If the BH works then the priority valve is working.

Another thing of note is if the relief valve is staying in bypass (i.e. either bad or over pressured), then there won't be enough power for the FEL, BH and 3PH to work.

Looks like it's going to take a few steps inorder to find the problem, one being the need to either remount your BH or disconnect the line to see if theres high pressure getting through that circuit. Course if you've got a pressure gauge handy that would be the easiest way to troubleshoot the various circuits for power.

Simply forgetting to reconnect the looped hydraulic hose when taking the loader off would cause your symptoms. IE: power steering would function, but no flow to TPH and MMM hydraulics.

I'm facing a similar problem...hoping someone has already found a solution, because I'm at my wits end. I have a BX2200...just had a FEL put on by dealer...now 3 pt hitch won't raise or lower. It acts like it's completely dead, no response. There is no noise when I try to raise or lower. The lever for raising/lower actually seems to have tension towards the "down position" (towards the back of the tractor)...it doesn't want to "sit" in a "neutral position" like it always did (in the middle). Odd thing is my FEL works great, no problems. There is sufficient fluid, I checked (also pretty fresh, less than 15 hours on it). The knob/lever under the seat is turned to the "fast"/"open" option for the 3 pt.

Any advice? Could the dealer have messed something up? They claim that putting an FEL has nothing to do with 3 pt and couldn't possibly affect it. Even if that's true I still need to figure out a solution...HELP!!!

Thanks in advance for your time.

If your 3pt worded before the FEL was installed, but now doesn't, you should take your tractor back to the dealer. They plumbed your FEL wrong and hooked the "Power Beyond" hose up to the "return" port on the FEL.

first check the hydralic flow knob below the seat. Turn the knob totally the other way if the 3 pt hitch isnt working. chances are you have it turned off or set at a real low flow.

I always thought the draft control know only effected the drop rate, not the lift rate.

I have attached the schematic for your use..

If the TPH arms are already down, you can ignore this question..

When you put the lever to the down position for the TPH, can you push the arms down? Not sure if the arms are currently up or down when you say it won't work. There usually needs to be some weight on them to make them go down.

When I purchased my BX23 I had the same trouble, I believe I actually had to push the 3 point down in the back, I also recall the knob under the seat was frozen and I could not turn it. It had the BH on and I do not think the original owner ever even used the 3 point. It wasn't rusty or anything, just stuck and would not come down. It took me about 2 hours to free it up. Make sure nothing is hanging up on the MM arms too.

Thanks for all the replies. It is not the valve/handle underneath the seat (checked that first!). I called the dealer and his mechanic was no help...gave a few suggestions (mainly the valve/handle for the flow rate under the seat). I called back, spoke to the owner and told him what I had tried. His response "well, you spent too long trying to fix it...we should've done it right the first time. What's your address and how do I get to your house? I'll be there on Thursday". He agreed that it was probably plumbed wrong (return/power beyond ports). Now that's a dealer! He's ensured my business for a long time to come. Anyone in NW Ohio...check out J & L Equipment in Wapakoneta, Ohio...ask for Jim. I'll reply back when we finally get this figured out, just so you all know what was really wrong with the 3pt. Thanks for your help!

Turns out that the kubota instruction manual gave two different sets of instructions on how to hook up the lines...the mechanic choose wrong! The power beyond ports was, indeed, connected to the return port. he came out to my house, fixed it in 15 minutes, no charge. Great service, great business! Everything is working great now...FEL definitely worth it!

Thanks for all your help!
