As others have noted, this is the winter for snow (at least in the NE). My wife has said a hundred times "sure was a good year to get a new tractor".
Our latest 22" was taken in stride by the BX-22/front blower. Doing the 2100' driveway, 10' wide took about 1 1/2 hours. The vinyl cab and remote chute controls really make the job, well almost fun. If it weren't for the 10 degree temperature, it would have been no hassle at all.
For all you guys with 3PT blowers, how do drive that much looking over your shoulder (with a big job) ? The extra for the Kubota front mount was worth it to me. The cab really shined as we had 30 to 40 MPH winds in the latter part of the storm. Keeping the wind blown snow off is a big difference in comfort.
As for as the BX, it does a spectacular job. The 4WD and bar tires go anywhere in the snow. There was no problem making turns in the virgin snow. I have yet to mount the rear chains I bought. They may rust in the bag at this rate, as traction is no problem. I have not even used the diff lock in the snow yet.
I will try to get some PIX soon of the workhorse. Also I was glad I filled a 50 gal drum with fuel oil in November at $ 0.96 Around here oil is up to $ 1.60 and diesel is over $ 1.80. Nice going back to the shed to fill up, knowing there is enough there for the season.
