Sorry to sound this way, but I have to ask two burning questions!

1) Why are you backing up 150 feet when you have plenty of room to turn around and go forward?

2) Why is having the outriggers partially down safer? It looks like you have just made it easier to run into the side of a car, wall, rock etc.

Just a guess, but I'm thinking he's just backing in to pick-up and place the stones. The rest of the time he's going forward.

What spaceing are you talking about between the thumb and the teeth of the bucket??

To tell you the truth I'm not sure. I just welded the thumb just behind the pivot point on the arm where the bucket mounts to get maxium width. and I use a adjustable upper link for the rod so I do have some ajustment there.

Im backing up,to the stone wall to get a rock then driving forward to deposit it.I keep the weight of the rock up hill,and i dont like turning on the grade.
It gets real unsettling in a hurry,and im hoping the downrigger will catch me if i start to turn over.There are no cars or obsticals near this project,and im traveling slow and careful,i got alot of weight im traveling with.

Carrying it,it is pretty heavy,but the bx is doing fine.slow and easy movements to keep it stable going down the hill
