BX-bagger-boot

I got some angle iron and bolted to the existing holes in the front of the tractor frame. Cross rod to mount the hydraulic cylinder. There is a linkage between the end of the cylinder and the dethatcher. That becomes the float mechanism.... ie I l extend the cylinder so that wheels touch and then a bit more to create the float flexibility you are talking about. .

So if I'm understanding this correctly, the linkage bends where it connects to the cylinder, allowing the dethatcher to float up and down as needed.... very clever!

Your interpretation is correct. A piece of chain would accomplish the same thing. I preferred a pivoting link. I made some sketches of all the pieces and sent them to another fellow that was interested once. I can PM to you if you wish. You will collect more grass than you ever wanted. I collect and store in back corner of the yard and work it as well as fall leaves into the soil with rototiller so I have organic material for other gardens.
