Greetings, I finally got around to dismounting the BH and trying out the 3PH for the 1st time today. It took alittle while to cipher out the proceedure but now it's as easy to do as advertised. I'm impressed in that I can dismount the BH & install the 3PH all without any tools. Pretty good engineering I rekon!
Leaving the BH in the shop presented another problem tho, once dismounted it likes to lay claim to lots of valuable territory and with it weighing in at around 600lbs, it pretty much wants to stay where it gets deposited. So, since it was too muddy to play outside much today, I decided that that BH needed to have the capability to be moved around and a hvy duty dolly would be the ticket. I packrat just about everything and just so happened to have 4 heavy duty casters w/grease fittings and some spare treated lumber laying about. After roughing out the plans, a few cuts, nuts, bolts, screws and approx an hr later, the BH became mobile. It's still a handful to move but it will move in any direction and should make remounting it alot easier.
I used 2 treated 2x10's cut 25" long to be the primary load bearing members. I screwed them together w/ 2 treated 2x4's cut 48" long. I bolted the 4 hvy duty caster wheels to the 2x10's. Due to clearance considerations, I placed the 2x4's on top rather than on the bottom. This gave me a lower clearance and also allowed me to bolt the casters to the 2x10 as opposed to the smaller 2x4's. It's holding up pretty good and is pretty handy. Fresh grease in the casters made it roll much easier too! I may fab up a dolly for the FEL also, later on down the road.

A pic of the dolly upside down to show the caster wheels.
