Yeah I guess... funny thing is I can't mow my lawn with my glorified mower (yet). It must be good for nothing.

Don't waste your money on the mower. My dealer brought a BX mower out for me to try and it rode like a stone! Plus the turf tires fill up fast in wet areas and it just sat there and spun so I couldn't take it off the grass. I had to yank it out of the wet areas with my real tractor. I bought a Ferris that rides like a dream and cuts twice as fast and it was less money. Get a zero turn, you will be much happier! Good luck!

Dragon deerherd is right on , forget mowing with a bx..... I would even skip the ferris and buy this :))) 404 - File or directory not found.
Besides , bx is a glorified lawnmower so at 120" wide and a 45hp kubota turbo this mower tromps ferris and is a SUPER glorified lawn mower!!

You BX people are way too sensitive about your machines. I was looking to get something to plant trees and posies with, carry mulch and if it could mow the lawn too all the better. Compared to a zero turn it's not even close. Yeah I could mow with it if I had to but I don't.

Will still get a smaller tractor but one of the things it doesn't have to do is mow the lawn.

I think he OP (alias Jay) is having a good chuckle about what he has stirred up. Many good points have been raised in defense of the BX series capabilities for small property owners and as a supplemental unit for larger property owners. If Jay takes some of these comments to heart (ballast, checking hydraulics, tooth bar) and follows up, I think he will be happier with the unit he has (or at least I hope so). If he does not, well it is up to him. I am now unofficially no longer following this thread. (Break the thread, Retire the thread, The Thread is Dead???) I'm just saying, He can have his opinion and we can disagree. Turn out the lights!

Be careful you will open a can of worms on yourself;) If the bx you tested had the tires inflated to the recommended tire pressure it probably did ride hard. I dropped the pressure down on mine to make it ride better. I think one thing that makes the newer BXs ride bad is the low profile tires on the front. There is not much sidewall there to give when you hit a bump. The sidewall also has to be stiff enough to with stand a loader. I think a older BX may ride better since it does not have low profile tires on the front.

I think they would care less if you talked about their wife.

I upgraded from a BX1850 to a BX25D so that I could get the BH to help dig around the house to replace drain tile. So far, as long as I work within the tractors ability it's doing an awesome job.
With my BX1850, I moved enough plays sand to fill a 12' x 24' sandbox to a 1' depth and it was a trooper! I don't have a larger tractor to compare to so maybe the OP is just too spoiled by the abilities of his larger tractor. I've owned several lawn tractors and to call a BX a glorified one is just a slap in the face and ignorance. When the snow piles got too deep last winter I put the loader on the 1850 and moved them back...do that with a lawn mower!

Very nice job, you sure moved a lot of dirt. Nice looking BX too.
