I don't have a piranha... I have a Markham and what a difference it made for the work I was doing.

Pretty simple, take the BX back and trade it on a larger tractor! If it's not what you want...

I have a Ford 3930 MFWD with loader and a BX1500 with loader. They each have there uses. In many instances, especially where I want to tread lightly the BX is used more often than you'd think. If you use it properly and within its limits, it's a very capable little machine, even more so with a PTB which has increased it's usefulness ten times over.

So, I recently bought a BX2200 w/ 5' MMM, loader, and snowblower. I bought the tractor primarily as a mower, and wanted the blower as an emergency backup should something fail with my 3pt blower that sits behind my L4200GST. I also wanted a loader, just 'cause. Well, after attempting to do some loader work for the 2nd time this past weekend, I can definitely say that the BX is just a hair better than useless when it comes to loader work. Not that it's a bad machine, it's just too light and the wheels are too tiny to get anything done without sliding and digging in. I was trying to dig in beach sand, and couldn't even come close to filling the bucket before all 4 wheels were spinning and going nowhere. Last time I used the loader, I was up on 3 wheels while trying to drive over a 4" drop with all of a half bucket of gravel. Both times, I pulled out my L4200 and had done in a single bucketload what I couldn't do in a half-hour with the BX. I can assume that it will do an adequate job running its snowblower, based on my experience running front-mount blowers on lawn tractors, though I don't really expect it to be significantly better that the lawn tractors. It should be adequate to function as a snowblower backup, but will probably need all 4 tires chained. On the other hand, my L4200 3pt blower will eat a car and not even cough with front chains only.

I'm happy with the BX's performance as a mower, and expect that the blower will be OK, but I totally wasted the extra money I spent for the loader. I can only imagine how frustrating a BX backhoe must be.

This is exactly why I recommend people strongly consider a larger, heavier machine than the BX. Nothing against its quality, but its physical features make it somewhat useless for any "heavy" work, especially if you consider time to do the job.

This becomes painfully obvious if you have a frame of reference for how fast a larger machine can do the same job. If youve never ran a larger, heavier machine, then ignorance is bliss. Of course those same limiting features on a BX (size, weight, ground clearance) can be a plus in tight or sensitive areas, but most of the time they are a hindrance.

I have a BX and have done lots of work with it, however it can be extremely frustrating getting the job done sometimes.

I don't have a BX, never sat on one or really paid much attention to them on the dealer lot. To me they are just a glorified lawn mower(flame away all you BX owners but you cant deny the truth of this). BUT I do have a B26 to compare to my P7010 and it is like everyone is saying. If you want to do large and fast, use the bigger tractors, but it you want finesse and ease of maneuvering, go with the smaller tractor. My B26 probably will lift the whole BX tractor but it is still small compared to the 3500+ pounds of lift with the P7010. If I could compact the B26 complete with backhoe into a small enough package, I think my LS could lift it's 4001# of weight.
Having said all that, my number one go to tractor is the B26 rather than the P 7010 because it is smaller, easier to drive, visibility is much better and does a better job of smoothing out using the FEL than the larger tractor. It is much slower at moving material though what with having about 1/4th the capacity volume wise so if I need to move large amounts of material fast, the P 7010 gets the job.

There is always a need for large AND small machines and having both is the best of both worlds.

Idk about being "just a glorified lawnmower" ....
I guess if lawnmowers have 3cyl 23hp diesel and weigh 3000lbs than yes they are lol

i tried to stay out of this thread as long as I can. Look- there are going to be a few people who say a certain tractor doesnt fit the bill or match their needs or used to using large heavy duty equipment. Thats fine with me, they just dont have the knack, the patience to get the job done. I just cant justify my needs/wants to fit theirs too. WE all are different and thats why there are many models to choose from. Just take it back and get the right size that suits you. One size doesnt always fit all. For me, the BX is the perfect fit. I am tired of the crappy box stores riding mowers and cant get much done. I certainly dont need a B or L or M right now. If the need arises, I always can upgrade/rent or just chip away the project with a smaller one. It will get done eventually. No skin off my bones. I do NOT put down the larger tractor owners and they shouldnt put down the smaller owners either. You just get/use whatever fits the bill.

The BX is NOT a "glorified lawnmower". But it is a small tractor...

Guess I'll have to get rid of all my spoons and replace them with a couple of shovels.

Here's one for ya - a shovel is just a glorified spoon.
