My JD 1025 sputtered once, too, but it recovered and has been fine since.
Hate the idea of having to get at that underfloor, inline filter on it. Checked with JD once to see if they had a shut-off valve to put in line when I changed it. They were out.
Wonder if the engineers were forced into doing this for all tractors? Guess the lower pore ones weren't available to prescribe for the ones located inside the fuel bowl area. Don't understand why (all of a sudden) everyone had to go to a fine pore, inline filter. Our old 240D had an inline one ahead of the HP fuel pump (and then the big spin-on filter) back in 1983. Don't think it was fine pore one though. it was right up there easy to get to. The 240D is probably the easiest car in the world to work on.
