The 3pt on the B7500, and probably her B2910, also raises the mower deck. You would want to pin it up so it wouldn't be raising and lowering while trying to attach or remove a 3 pt implement. Twisting the knob to hang the deck sure does sound like a great feature! Anyway, the baggers are totally different from the BX to the B series tractors.

Joyce, when I received my tractor there wasn't a prayer that those pins were going in. I think the holes didn't line up by more than an inch. So, I decided to diddle with the length adjustments on the rods that come forward from the 3pt. I had to shorten the rods as far as they would go and now the holes line up almost perfectly. All I have to do now is rock whatever side of the deck I'm on with one hand just a bit to get it exactly in line while inserting the pin./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Jeff,
Is the mmm set up on your B7500 the same as on my B2910? What you have described sounds almost too easy. As I am reading this late, and in my jammies, I'm not going out to look at it in the dark. The first pins that I struggled with, were the pins that support the mmm so that it cannot be let down with the lever that also controls the 3pt hitch. The second set of pins that I struggled with, were on the 3pt hitch arms, except that I did these in reverse (oops). Since I only did the arm changing dance on the 3pt hitch once, I can't quite remember it or picture it /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif. Guess this leaves me at a disadvantage at not quite knowing what arms you mean. Makes me feel way too 'newbie'.
Next spring when I go to put the grass catcher on, I will pay close attention to the arm business. Of course, then I will at least be doing two of the steps in order? I hope. Thanks...
Cheers to the stay at home dad business!! Do the kids like the tractor? /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif My 7 year old boy LOVES mine. Keeps trying to make it his own, and is not satisfied with the old Arien's. Geeze...even the kids get spoiled with the pretty shiny toys.

Hey Joyce,

I'm not really sure if the B2910 and the B7500 are exactly the same. I was in fact talking about the pins that hold the mmm in the up position so the 3pt can work by itself. If I had tried to insert these pins the way it was delivered I think a floor jack would have been necessary. I think the holes the pin goes through were a good inch apart. Sooooo, I got to looking at it and it seemed to me that it just needed to be lifted some more even though I thought the bar that attaches to the rear of the deck would hit the pulley guard. Well, I shortened those rods that lead from the 3pt forward as far as I could and the hole lined right up great with no interference. I'm not sure what these rods are called and since I'm a newbie too I'll just call them rod thingys. They run front to back and are located under the seat I guess.

I haven't had any reason to try and remove my bagger as I have no implements so I'll have to wait on the dreaded 3pt pin nightmare I have heard so much about./w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

My 7 year old doesn't seem all that thrilled with the tractor. When we were at the dealer he wanted the one with the cab....mom wouldn't go for it and I guess it would have been a bit much for mowing the lawn. No, my son Alex is a little different. Have you ever heard of the game Age of Empires put out by Microsoft? This is a civilization strategy game aimed squarly at adults and he's been playing it since he was 4. The week before kindergarden started I decided to let him play as much as he wanted. He played one day for 10 hours and the next for 12. No Attention Deficit Disorder there. I think I have more hope for my 3.5 year old. He seems to like the same toys I do...time will tell.

Let me know if you find anything out about your pins.

Jeff

OK, done. Here's how it went:

First I lowered the two legs of the blower stand and made sure they were supporting the blower weight, putting a piece of 2x under one of them (uneven ground).

Then, I removed the pin from one end of each of the turnbuckles on the lower 3-pt hitch arms and let the turnbuckles dangle. With a 4-5 ft length of 2x4, I forced the lower arms off of the pins on the blower frame.

The upper pin for the center support arm is difficult to get to, so I removed the cotter pins from the plastic blower cover hinges and stand-off and removed the cover and the collection bags from the blower assembly. With the cover removed, I could stand between the collection bag support arms directly behind the tractor and work on that upper hitch pin.

Removing the upper pin is complicated by the weight of the blower resting on it and that it is extra long so as to provide a storage location for that extra center 3-pt hitch arm. No matter how I picked up or rocked the blower, I couldn't seem to relieve enough weight from the pin so that I could pull it out. I ended up using a brass-headed hammer to drive the pin flush with the holes of the hitch and then driving it through with a short piece of steel rod of a smaller diameter than the hitch pin. After removing the drive shaft, the blower was then off.

Perhaps next time I will try removing the upper, center hitch pin first and see if that is easier. I will also replace the cotter pins I removed from the turn buckles and blower cover with those hair-pin type hitch pin pin things so that I don't need pliers next time.

Sorry I didn't take any pictures, maybe next spring.

I then removed the mower deck, installed the drive shaft from the undercarriage pto to the front quick hitch and mounted the snow blower, none of which I had done before.

I am dissapointed to report that the Saturday snow storm did not deliver enough snow to test the snowblower out. :-(
