This is probably a stupid question, but the BX baggers (and all others I have to assume) mount to the 3pt hitch arms. Since the deck and 3pt is controlled by the same valve, the bagger obviously moves up and down with the deck/3pt. Since the deck moves 3-4" to the 3pt arms foot or so, how is that difference in distance handled?

I'm thinking of putting together a DIY ghetto bagger set up of some kind, which is why I ask.

The later baggers do not mount to the 3pt hitch, mine mounts to plates that are bolted to the frame. I have read that this style is much easier to mount. The movement in the deck is corrected by the flexible hose between the deck boot and the impeller driven by the rear pto.

I bought a third party bagger and mounted it to the three point hitch hanging the arms with chains from the fixed mounts. It works very well.

I have a Kubota 3 pt hitch bagger. Mounting it requires that you remove the links from the 3 pt hitch that normally attach to the tractor lift arms. That way it is possible to raise /lower the mower deck while the bagger maintains a fixed position. The bagger manual covers this in detail.

Ah - I see! Is that a PTO driven auxiliary fan? Cool if it is. Who's the 'third party'?

Got it - thanks!

Third party bagger? Please provide more info as make and model. Thanks

I had a BX22 with a nagger and my dad has a BX23 with the same set up. The bagger is pinned it at the top where the top link would usually go. The lower arms are tightened up via the turnbuckles and because the 3ph has no down pressure, the bagger does not move. The deck does, the bagger does not. The wishbone is what goes up and down with the deck, and the links between the lift arms and the wishbone are not used.
