I prefer the Deere style "twin touch" pedals. I don't prefer them enough to buy a green machine but if I could put together my own, it would have them.

Has anyone seriously looked into re-designing the BX pedals to mimic this? I don't think I'm qualified to design and build such a system so I'd be more likely to buy a kit if someone came out with one.

What I actually do most of the time is only use the forward pedal. I put my foot underneath it and pull up for reverse. This is easier to do for short distances than lift leg and foot up and reposition to the rear pedal.

Don't take me the wrong way, I am not complaining it is too hard, but I just simply see room for improvement. If you run both machines one after another, I think the vast majority would choose the side by side pedals. I have operated a wide variety of equipment and I think about ergonomics a lot.

For people that aren't sure what I'm talking about... click here: Hydrostatic (HST) transmission with Twin Touch™ foot controls

It appears Mahindra also uses this design... http://static.fastline.com/assets/item/065/143/4178078e-cfdb-4eab-91e6-9e08cffbf624.jpg

Walker 450,
Bet if someone had a kit they would sell a bunch, I have a buddy who is a john deere guy, just purchase a kubota 2650, and he tells me all the time that he wishes it had the twin pedals. He likes the tractor otherwise.

I think there are advantages and disadvantages to either style of forward/reverse pedals.

For my Kubota B7800 I actually like the toe/heel pedal better.
The heel pedal for reverse is especially nice for snow blowing with my rear mount snow blower.
I'm able to spin around in the seat more, to look rearward, because of the heel pedal's location.
This is also true when working with my rear mount blade and pushing material in reverse.

I have the side by side twin touch style pedals on my Husqvarna mower, and for mowing with the Husqvarna, I like the side by side twin touch pedals better.

I agree. Personally I like the toe/heel design. For one, my size 13 winter boots don't fit so well on the side-by-side pedals. Yes, the heel pedal is WAY nicer for long stretches backing up. The other, and biggest reason, is it's absolutely impossible to confuse which pedal is which direction

Not too sure about the "vast majority" preferring twin pedals, we have John Deere and Kubota and we prefer the Kubota. There is a reason there are different designs.

Thanks for all of the replies everyone. I envision a modification to leave the original reverse pedal in place and functional. I agree it is in a better spot if you are turned around looking backwards for extended periods of time.

I have a B3350 which is the same tractor as your buddy's. I prefer the single "rocker" pedal. Easy to use and intuitive, requires a minimum of foot movement as compared to two individual pedals.
